There are different kinds of relationship in our life. We have to deal with all these relationship everyday. Youcan deal with all these relationship with your own standard or you can choose the standard of God when facing problems in your relationship. Let's take a look at what the Bible says about our family and consider this Christian opinion on how to build up a better family relationship.
1. Family of Love
When God first created human being. He created Adam and Eve. These two people formed the first family of all mankind. Later on, They started to have their own children and it was never easy for them to handle their family relationship by themselves. Look at how Adam had blamed Eve for his own sin and how he wanted to escape from his own responsibility after his fall, you then will understand the tension from this family. When Adam and Eve had their own children,things had became more complicated .Cain had murdered his own brother Abel and since then, all mankind started to experience more conflict and sadness in their family communication.(Gen.4 :1-8)All these problems arose from human ignorance of God's word and God's standard of living. Therefore, the solution to any family issue has to begin with a decision in returning to God's word. When dealing with family relationship, love is always the best medicine to begin with. It is hard for anybody to communicate with their own family members if love is not exists in a relationship. Thts is the reason why Jesus emphasized on love when teaching about the essence of the Law. (Matt.22 : 35-38) For without love, peolple will remain self centered and will not see things from other's perspective. In fact, The Bible always emphasized on the unity and harmony of family (Eph 6:1-4)and the importance of loving it's own members(Eph 5:22-25).With God's word,we will find the exit for family problems .
2. Family of Communication
There are many busy people in this world who work for long hours but with less rest. These people never
spend enough time at home and nor will they have time to play with their children. They don't really spend
their times to communicate with their children and spouse. An interesting survey in Asia indicated that 2
things that an Asian man will do the most when he is at home : sleep and watch TV. No wonder many
teenages from Asia won't be able to have a positive father figure at home, because their fathers never talk to
them or listen to how they feel. Whatever relationship we are talking about today, communication process,
understanding and support to our family members will hardly exist. The Bible states that there is a time for
everything (Ecc 3 : 1-11) ,so why not take some times to build up your family relationship at least experience
positive change in your family after a short periods of time.
Conclusion : Family is a gift from God and we all have to treasure such a gift. If you can protect your family with love and communication, You are doing God's will and the Satanic forces will have less chance
to attack your family. On the other hand, you will experience more blessing from God.
